Sustainable Territorial Development
Aleksandra Krstikj is an assistant research professor at the School of Architecture, Art, and Design of Tecnológico de Monterrey, State of Mexico Campus. She holds a PhD in Architecture from Osaka University and a Master's in Architecture from the Kyoto Institute of Technology, both in Japan. Her research focuses on subjects such as spatial equity, active mobility, food environments, and urban health, areas in which she has published more than 20 articles in high-impact (Q1/Q2) indexed international journals.
She has led research projects funded by VREF, notably her work on “Walking to School in Latin America,” in collaboration with Universidad EAFIT in Medellín, Colombia, and ProMorar in Recife, Brazil. She is also a member of Mexico’s National System of Researchers and belongs to renowned academic organizations such as the Architectural Institute of Japan, the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, and the Association of American Geographers.
